To Process: BOINC

Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing

Use the idle time on your computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux) to cure diseases, study global warming, discover pulsars, and do many other types of scientific research.

BOINC is a open-source software platform for distributed computing using volunteered computer resources. You can choose a project and contribute with your computing resources or also create a project that anyone can join by contributing with their cpu cycles.

This project takes great advantage from the huge computing power given by distributed computing over Internet so that you can easily (and freely) elevate the performance applied to heavy tasks.
