Save King's Quest IX

Are you familiar with the King's Quest fan game that has been in the works since 2002? Over 40 people have worked on it. Programmers, writers, artists, animators, actors -- all because they loved King's Quest. When finished, the game was going to be made available to anyone who wanted it, for free, via their website (www.kqix.com).

It was due to be released this December, but just a few weeks ago, Vivendi Universal Games (who now owns Sierra, and thus the rights to King's Quest) issued a cease & desist letter to the fans making the game. They were forced to shut down.

Some King's Quest fans have joined forces in an effort to save the game. They just recently launched a website.

They are asking everyone to send an email to Vivendi, and made it very easy to do so via their website. There's an email link there -- you click it, and up pops a new email all ready to go. All you have to do is hit send. It literally only takes 10 seconds.

What we really need right now is to get the word out about our efforts. Would you pass along this info to any other King's Quest fans that you know?

The goal here is simple: the release of King's Quest IX: Every Cloak Has A Silver Lining.
